Update to Office 2024 for Windows Devices

The Microsoft Office Suite includes many commonly-used applications. Your Windows device may have Office 2016, 2019, or 2021, which will all soon be end-of-life and require and update. Here's how to initialize a self-service update to Office 2024 on your Windows device. The instructions below only work for Pepperdine-owned devices on which the Device Management Agent is installed. 1. From the device you wish to update, go to https://servicedesk.pepperdine.edu/
2. Log in using your Pepperdine credentials
   
   
   
   
   
3. On the left navigation pane, click on "Downloads"
   
   
   
   
   
4. Click on the relevant install name. IT recommends selecting "Self-Service, Install Office 2024: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (for Windows)" unless you have a specific business reason for requiring other Office applications.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Select the appropriate target device in the "Device to install software on:" drop-down menu. If you do not know the name of your device, are unsure of which device to target, or do not have any options in the menu, reach out to your local IT support person or call 310-506-4357 for assistance.
6. Click "Install"
   
   
   
   
   
7. You will be redirected to the "Download History" page which will show the status of your request. If desired, you can now close the browser window.
8. In a few moments, a window titled "Pepperdine University Desktop Alert" will appear. Click "Ok"
   
   
   
   
   
9. It may take a few minutes for the installation to begin as install resources are being downloaded.
10. Once the installation begins, you will see a progress window from the Microsoft Office installer.
    
    
    
    
    
11. Once the installation finishes, you will see a message from the Microsoft Office installer.
